“Lifeway” is a hand embellished limited edition Giclee on stretched canvas by Fabian Perez. The piece is numbered and hand signed by the artist and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. The piece reflects the life of a common working man from Fabian’s youth in Argentina. “Lifeway” evokes feelings of a simpler time, reflects the hard work of an everyday male Argentinian, and the meditative peace that comes along with his daily struggle to survive at the bottom of his economic class. The calm tones emit a feeling of peace, and one can almost feel the cool breeze of the sea and hard earth under callused souls making the long trek home after a day of hard labor.
Growing up in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Fabian Perez dedicated himself to the study of Karate and fine art. A sojourn in Italy from age 22 to 29 firmly established his career as a painter and inspired him to write ‘Reflections of a Dream,’ a book later published in the US. After a year in Japan, which left two of his paintings on display in a government building, he moved to Los Angeles where he currently resides with his wife and young daughter.
As a boy Fabian developed an immense admiration and respect for the beautiful courtesans he observed at his father’s three brothels. No doubt it was his extraordinarily painful childhood that resulted in Perez seeking solace in the romantic ideal of life which is the heart and soul of his art. Fabian’s unique style of painting – which he calls ‘Emotionalism’ – uses colors, highlights, and shadows to express passionate feelings which are mined from the deep well of memory. Fabian Perez’ international success affords him the quiet time he needs to create his art and be with his family and friends, which he considers the three most important things in life. “It is not how much you have, but with whom you enjoy it.”
He has achieved important artistic recognitions internationally and his work is exhibited in exclusive galleries around the world. Fabian’s art and style are unique, his art reflects passion, emotion and pure energy. He is the creator of a new style of painting that he called Neo Emotionalism. Perez expresses that this style will be recognized by the artists who at the end of a work can feel liberated and by the viewer when observing the work can feel the creation in their heart. Characterized by a dramatic narrative style and heady atmosphere, each of his works has a fascinating and unusual setting based on his own personal history. He has been commissioned to paint some of the most important and influential people in the world. Including Pope Francis, and the President of Argentina.
