Letter to Marion Grimm, the wife/widow of Chicago Cubs great, Charlie Grimm. In part:
”How nice it was to get your letter. Thanks to you a saucer bearing a photo of me and Charlie is right here in my office where I’m writing this note. I treasure it as I do my memories of the Cubs and the “Grimms”. And yes of “Marion”. Nancy sends her best regards and both of us are still Cub fans because of you and our memories of Charlie – the greatest Cub of all. Warmest Regard – Ronnie.”
President Reagan in the press box with Harry Caray during a Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game at Wrigley Field in Chicago on 9/30/88. This image is a work of an employee of the Executive Office of the President of the United States, taken or made as part of that person’s official duties. President Ronald Reagan, former play-by-play man for the Chicago Cubs, made a nostalgic trip back to Wrigley Field, and threw out the ceremonial first pitch before settling into the broadcast booth with Cubs’ broadcaster Harry Caray. Pirates beat the Cubs 10-9.
