Zakhar Sherman was born in the USSR on March 19, 1950.
Zakhar is a Metarealist artist, as well as an acclaimed representative of the third generation of Russian avant-garde. His works have been exhibited in many European museums and galleries which are part of their core collection. He resides in Toronto, Canada. From the 80s to present, RUSSIAN METAREALISM is a principal art movement addressing the reality open to the mind’s eye yet optically indiscernible. The fact that we can imagine things we cannot see substantiates their existence regardless of immediate empirical validation.
